Тип записи:Публикация, Parental reflexivity and latent psychological violence among urban parents in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan: an exploratory study(Frontiers Media, 2026-09-30); ; ; Marhabbat NurovIntroduction Parental reflective functioning (PRF) has been associated with less harmful parenting behavior and a lower likelihood of intergenerational continuity of violence. However, little is known about whether the association between parental reflexivity and psychologically harmful parenting differs between fathers and mothers in Central Asia. This study examined parental reflexivity, measured using A. V. Karpov’s Reflexivity Scale as an operational proxy for PRF, and its association with latent psychological violence among urban parents in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. Methods A cross-sectional multi-city study was conducted in Almaty, Shymkent, Turkestan, and Bishkek. The analytical sample ( N = 400), drawn from a larger dataset ( n = 500), included 158 fathers and 242 mothers. Measures included reflexivity, aggression, empathy, latent psychological violence (ILV), uyat intensity, and family-of-origin violence. Analyses comprised parent-group-specific regressions, bootstrap coefficient comparisons, hierarchical moderation models with a PRF × parent-group interaction, and robustness analyses using recruitment-site fixed effects, robust standard errors, the full sample, parent-group weighting, and additional family-context covariates. Results Reflexivity was strongly inversely associated with latent psychological violence in both parent groups. The PRF–ILV slope was descriptively steeper among fathers than mothers ( b = −0.900, R 2 = 0.485 vs. b = −0.779, R 2 = 0.417), but the difference was not statistically significant ( z = −1.27, p = 0.204; 95% bootstrap CI [−0.320, 0.067]). The PRF × parent-group interaction was also nonsignificant (Δ R 2 = 0.002, p = 0.201). Among highly reflective parents with family-of-origin violence, none of five fathers met the exploratory high-ILV threshold (ILV ≥ 70), compared with 1 of 7 mothers; this difference was nonsignificant ( p = 1.000). Family-of-origin violence was associated with lower reflexivity among both fathers ( d = 0.64) and mothers ( d = 0.74). Discussion Parental reflexivity showed a robust inverse association with latent psychological violence, but formal analyses provided no evidence that this association differed between fathers and mothers. The descriptively steeper father association should therefore be regarded as hypothesis-generating rather than as evidence of a father-specific effect. These findings support further longitudinal and intervention research in urban Central Asian populations. - Некоторые метрики заблокированы вашиминастройками согласия
Тип записи:Публикация, Evaluation of students' views on teaching the subject of migration through distance education in Kazakhstan geography course(Science Park Research Organization and Counselling LTD, 2022-01-31) ;Nurbol Ussenov ;Laiskhanov Shakhislam ;Kulyash Duisenbaevna KAIMULDINOVA ;Bakhadurkhan Sh. AbdimanapovThe aim of this study is to determine the important and methodological aspect of examining the population migration patterns of distance education and university students' geography course. 420 university students who continue their education in Kazakhstan participated in the research in the spring term of 2020-2021. Scanning method was used in the research. In the research, a measurement tool called the general opinion measurement tool for the geography lesson, which was developed by the researchers and collected by taking expert opinion in the field of geography, was used. In the research, a 4-week online seminar was organized to increase the views of university students about the geography lesson, and training was given over Microsoft Teams, the interview form was collected with electronic forms after the seminar. The collected data were analyzed using spss program. According to the results of the study, it was concluded that university students' inclination to geography course is higher than male students, university students are familiar with the system for 1-3 years, their inclination to distance education systems is high and population migration patterns are learned well with this system. Тип записи:Публикация, Analysis of Intercultural Communication Competencies in Prospective Primary School Teachers' Use of Internet Technologies(2023-10-03) ;Guldana Turabay ;Gulmira Mailybaeva; ; Abay DuisenbayevIt can be said that self-efficacy perceptions of using the Internet for intercultural communication purposes is a characteristic that can be developed by putting computer and Internet use skills into practice. Before starting the studies to improve this characteristic, there is a need for research to reveal the current situation. The purpose of this study is to examine the intercultural communication competencies and internet self-efficacy of prospective prospective primary school teachers in Kazakhstan in a relational way. In this study, since it is aimed to examine whether these two variables differ in terms of gender and professional seniority by examining the contribution of internet self-efficacy scores in predicting intercultural communication competence scores of teachers, a relational survey model with descriptive method was used. The research sample consists of prospective primary school teachers at two different universities, in which there are different campuses in Taldykorgan, Ural, Almaty and Semey in Kazakhstan in the 2022-2023 academic year. In this context, questionnaires were collected from 261 teachers through face-to-face questionnaires. According to the findings of the study, teachers' intercultural competence and Internet self-efficacy were found to be at a moderate level. Participant prospective teachers' intercultural competence and Internet self-efficacy differed in relation to gender and age. Finally, internet self-efficacy of prospective primary school teachers significantly predicted their intercultural competence.Цитирования (OpenAlex) 8Цитирования (OpenCitations) 9 - Некоторые метрики заблокированы вашиминастройками согласия

Тип записи:Публикация, Science students’ attitudes, learning, critical thinking and engagement in project-based learning(Taylor & Francis, 2024-12-27); ;Samat Maxutov ;Robert Lee Lathrop; Nuri BaltaIn Project-Based Learning (PjBL), students are at the center of the learning process, where they actively collaborate to solve real-world problems. The aim of this study’s research was to explore students’ opinions of PjBL lessons across several factors: attitude, learning, critical thinking and engagement. To gather data, a questionnaire was administered to 167 students from six universities in Kazakhstan. The results revealed that students’ attitudinal scores towards PjBL were lower than their learning, critical thinking and engagement scores. Additionally, female students reported more positive attitudes towards PjBL than their male counterparts. The study found no variation in attitudes, learning, critical thinking and engagement of PjBL among different academic disciplines. Moreover, there was a weak positive correlation between students’ math scores and their engagement in PjBL. These results have implications for how future PjBL activities can be organized and how curriculum can be developed to enhance students’ attitudes towards PjBL.Цитирования (OpenAlex) 31Цитирования (OpenCitations) 19
