    Biological Features of Medicinal Plants of Agrimonia L. in South Eastern Kazakhstan
    (Canadian Center of Science and Education, 2014-03-25) ; ;

    The paper deals with morphological and anatomical features of medicinal plant Agrimonia L. that grows in South Eastern Kazakhstan. Morphological and anatomical specifications of vegetative organs were analyzed, and microphotographs of the objects being studied were taken. The overall purpose of this experiment is to clone a portion of the lyceraldehydes-3-phosphate dehydrogenase gene (GAPDH). Because it is a vital metabolic enzyme involved in one of the most basic of biological processes- glycolysis in respiration the GAPDH protein is highly conserved between organisms, especially vital domains of the enzyme, such as the active site.

    In this study, the morphological, anatomical features, chlorogenic acid content and antioxidant activities of two species from the genus Xanthium, namely Xanthium spinosum L. growing in the slopes of Mount Daubaba in the western part of the Talas Alatau of Tyulkibas region of the South Kazakhstan region and Xanthium strumarium L. growing in the slopes of the Alma-Arasan gorge of the Trans-Ili Alatau, Almaty region, were investigated.Xanthium strumarium L. is a one-year-old widespread plant.Height is 20-100 cm, leaves are straight, pubescent, thinly faceted.On the surface of the stem there are greyish-green or browngreen spots.Xanthium spinosum L. -height is 25-100 cm.Difference of stems from species Xanthium strumarium L. is thickly branched, creeping, low-directed small solid hairs.The main and lateral roots of the plant are well developed.The anatomical structure of the transverse cut of the root of species of the genus Xanthium L. is rounded.The epidermis is completely preserved.In the anatomical structure of the stem the epidermis of the stem is well developed in species Xanthium L. The central cylinder is closed collateral, the single conducting beams are arranged ring-shaped.The leaf plate of the species Xanthium L. consists of loose mesophilic and stem tissues.Conductive beams are well formed in the central system.Besides, a simple, precise, repeatable and accurate HPLC method for determination of chlorogenic acid in samples from the genus Xanthium was developed and validated.It is also observed that the extracts obtained from the leaves or stems of these plants have significant antioxidant activity, which correlated well with chlorogenic acid content of these samples, indicating that chlorogenic acid could be important contributor of antioxidant capacities of species of the genus Xanthium L.

    Anatomical, morphological and phytochemical properties of Aegopodium alpestre Ledeb.: a case study of Kazakhstan
    (Academic Press, 2020-09-10) ; ; ; ;
    Gulraikhan E. ZHANTEYEVA
    This article deals with the phytochemical, morphological and anatomical investigation of ethanol-based extracts derived from the leaves and stems of the Aegopodium alpestre. The vegetative organs of A. alpestre were conserved according to Strasburger-Fleµming method using a 1:1:1 mixture of alcohol-glycerin-water. A total of 1200 ethanol-based extracts (2 from leaves and 2 from stem tissues per plant) were prepared using the Soxhlet extractor. All extracts were used to identify organic and inorganic compounds in the leaves and stems of the studied plant. Contents of biologically active substances, microelements, vitamins and amino acids were determined. This article is the first paper to display very high concentration and diversity of vitamins (6 types), micronutrients (5 types), and aminoacids (13 types) in the leaves and steams of A. alpestre. Findings conclude that identification of biologically active substances in the above the ground vegetative organs of A. alpestre may be a common practice in the future. Considering the study results, A. alpestre may be used as a medicinal plant on a large scale. For this, the cultivation practice needs to be scaled up.

    INFLUENCE OF SOIL COMPOSITION ON THE MORPHO-ANATOMICAL STRUCTURE OF THE ALOE VERA PLANT
    Aloe is a plant that resembles a cactus and flourishes in hot, dry areas. It is grown in subtropical climates all throughout the world, including the border regions of New Mexico, Texas, California, and Arizona in the south. In medical practice, medicinal raw materials from plants are currently used as biogenic stimulants. Aloe vera contains more than 200 biologically active natural ingredients, including polysaccharides, vitamins, enzymes, amino acids, anthraquinones, saponins, organic acids, phytoncides, esters, phenols, resins, minerals and other elements that promote the absorption of nutrients, improve the functioning of the digestive system, strengthen the immune system, and also cleanse the body of toxins. It contains 20 amino acids, including essential ones for humans. Aloe gel is a storehouse of antioxidant vitamins A, C, E and B vitamins. Eight extremely important enzymes for humans were also found in this plant. The mineral complex in aloe is represented by calcium, copper, selenium, chromium, manganese, magnesium, potassium, sodium and zinc. This article presents a comparative analysis of the morpho-anatomical features of aloe vera from aloe arborescens, and also conducts a study of the anatomical structure of the Aloe vera L. plant in 4 variants grown in soil, collected from various mixtures.

    Atraphaxis virgata and Atraphaxis pyrifolia are xerophytic species of the Polygonaceae family that remain insufficiently characterized from pharmacognostic, phytochemical, and toxicological perspectives. This study provides an integrated evaluation of both species through anatomical authentication, sequential extraction of CO2-extracted residual biomass, GC–MS and LC–MS metabolite profiling, and acute oral toxicity assessment. Anatomical analysis revealed shared xeromorphic traits, including cuticular protection, dorsiventral mesophyll organization, structured vascular bundles, and calcium oxalate druses. It also identified species-specific differences in leaf thickness, mesophyll arrangement, vascular architecture, and druse morphology. GC–MS analysis showed distinct chemical profiles: A. virgata displayed a concentrated profile dominated by acetophenone- and benzofuran-related constituents, whereas A. pyrifolia showed a broader spectrum of carbohydrate-derived, phenolic-related, and oxygenated constituents. LC–MS analysis supported the tentative annotation of diverse polyphenolic classes, including flavonoids, phenolic acids, coumarins, and phenylpropanoid derivatives. Acute oral toxicity testing showed no mortality at doses up to 2000 mg/kg, supporting a low acute oral toxicity classification under the tested conditions. However, histological examination revealed mild to moderate dose-dependent alterations in liver and kidney tissues at higher doses. The novelty of this work lies in linking diagnostic anatomical traits, species-specific metabolite patterns, residual biomass valorization, and preliminary safety evidence within a single comparative framework. These findings provide a basis for pharmacognostic authentication, phytochemical standardization, and future bioactivity-guided evaluation of Atraphaxis species.
